Joe Rasmussen- Home Club(Chaska Curling Center)
Joe Started curling in 2016. The reason he started curling is that his wife and him were looking for a winter activity and they decided to try curling. They did a learn to curl and were hooked - so hooked they ordered shoes the very next day. Joe says they have met so many wonderful people in the last 8 years of curling, not only in Chaska but at all the other clubs they’ve been fortunate enough to play at.
While Joe has a few favorite personal moments in curling, a few that stick out are winning their first bonspiel in 2023 and having the opportunity to play with and against Olympians, National, World, Scotties and Brier champions in the Lupus Spiels. He decided to volunteer on the TCCA Board because being recently retired, he thought it would be a great opportunity to help where needed and spend more time growing and promoting an activity he loves. Joe said Curling is a lifetime sport and he wants to be part of promoting this wonderful game to both younger and older participants. He wants to pique interest in folks that are unaware of the fun attached to curling by making it more accessible to anyone that has an interest in the sport. He is learning what clubs do well, and passing these best practices along to others looking to improve.
